Importing Books RESETS Date!

I just imported a bunch of Books from an external Harddisk.
So what happens (if I got that right) is that a copy of eacho of those books is being put into my Calibre Library Folder.

My Problem now is that apart from the books, that found metadata information on the internet, the dates were all reseted!

If I open the pdf though, the information (creation date) is still in the metadata of the pdf properties (but not in calibre)

Why is that happening, can I change that behavior of resetting?

AND, if not, is there The a way to write the date of the pdf properties to the actual file propertise (creation date), or at least to the calibre metadata?

Hope I didnt sound too complicated,

I don't know if this will do what you want...but under "Preferences > Adding Books" there's a choice when copying to a new library to preserve the original date. From your description, I don't think you were moving books from one library to another, though.
