Date no longer part of News Title

Hi

I have created a few simple news recipes. Until recently the date that I downloaded the news using the recipe was included as part of the title in square brackets. Recently the date is no longer included. This makes it pretty hard to keep track of which items are which, especially on my Kindle, since only the most recent download appears on the home screen (although the previous downloads are still on the device). I cannot figure out what has changed. I even tried re-installing a previous version of Calibre, which had no effect at all. My recipes have not changed. Does anyone know how I can have the date included in the title again?

Thanks in advance,
John Pearce

If your output profile is set to Kindle, calibre does not include the date in the title. The Kindle displays the date for periodicals instead of the author automatically. Recently Amazon broke email delivery of periodicals, so send your periodicals by USB connection instead, and you will continue to see dates.

Thanks! That explains what has changed, because I recently defined Kindle as my output device (I had somehow missed doing that earlier). I see now that previous issues must be accessed from the Periodicals: Back Issues item on the menu, which is not easily accessed. That, of course, is a Kindle thing rather than a Calibre thing, but it is definitely not as handy!

Any idea if Amazon knows about this or is planning to fix it (or never to fix it)?
