PRS-T1 can't sign in to kobobooks from my T1

When I click on the log on link in the T1 browser, the screen just shakes a bit and nothing happens. I was hoping to download my books directly rather than having to go through the reader on my computer.

Is it only me who has this issue?

I download from Kobo all the time, but I'm in the US. Perhaps another European user can help you.

More detail would be helpful, too. Are you talking about the 'sign in' button on the home page, or is the log in page not reading your input?

Thanks, khalleron. Yes, I mean when I click on the 'log in' button in the top right hand corner of the home page. Maybe it's my location as you say. But I have no problems purchasing their books over the internet

Any Europeans here with input??

I don't know what I did wrong yesterday, but at least it's solved.

Now I can't download

I logged in, but when I go to a particular book in my library and click on 'download epub', it just redirects to me to a page completely filled with illegible text

*annoyed*

ETA: I tried now with another book and got the error message "Cannot download. The content is not supported on the Reader".

I already have lots of books from kobobooks there (transferred via the Reader software on my pc). I don't get it.

Your reader has to be authorized through the Sony store for ADE to be able to read the DRM.

Oh, OK! How do I do that? Is that the sign up process that they initiate when you open the Reader? I've never bothered with the store since I live in Europe, because I can't buy from it.

You might need to use a proxy serve service to hide your location. Sometimes address in USA or other country for store log in address and maybe credit card from same country. This is all part of DRM restrictions. Different nations length of copyright varies and area restrictions for sales with different prices in each area is part of marketing and maximising profits that copyright holders are trying to retain with their copyright monopolies.

Thanks for that. It's not a big deal connecting it to my mac and downloading via the reader, I was primarily worried that there was something wrong with my device or that I was doing something wrong. I'm going to the US soon so I'll give it a try while I'm there just to check it out.

Be sure that your Sony account has your location as USA. You might be able to register your device without being in the US.

Worth a try.

Now it all works like a charm. Don't know what I did wrong before, but the e-books are downloading in a few seconds
