I remember my first comic book. It was called Man. That was before they invented adjectives. |

I frequently long for the bad old days, though I agree that the introduction of floppy drives for personal computers was a marvellous thing. Computers made sense back then. They don't make sense any more.

I remember discovering the first known example of irony, which turned out not to be irony at all. It was later called sarcasm. This was before they invented context. Last edited by Prestidigitweeze; 03-23-2012 at 05:41 AM. | |

Depending on the system you pine for, cost of entry is probably less than the cost of an ereader. It really is nice to sit at the computer/video console of your youth once in a while. I like to share with young kids too, "Oh, that's just like..."

Anyone considering getting a Raspberry Pi? It reminds me of my first computer, a Acorn System 1. Except, of course, the Raspberry Pi is a lot cheaper, and an awful lot more capable. |

Wow...small world. Saw the Swans in concert in the early 90s...great band....not enough people know about them... this thread is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY offf topic now... [I remember working on a track called "Psychosexual Surgery" with exactly that setup and using samples from the Jeffrey Dahmer trial. The co-producer/co-composer and I used to try to w Roli Mosimann from the Swans, who wouldn't have minded our "murder music," had lived there before him. So, Ataris and C64s. Fairlights, Synclaviers, Emus and game consoles the size of sewing machines.[/QUOTE] |

That it does, wodin. The keyboardist who did their last tour was a great help when I was marketing my first book and is also an excellent artist. He created a beautiful etching that graces the verso page of a collection of my stories. Which goes to flaunt that someone can be charismatic onstage, handsome in band photos, multitalented and smart, savvy about publicity and marketing, and still be a selfless person in everyday life. Which defeats another stereotype and perhaps takes us back to our original subject. Last edited by Prestidigitweeze; 03-24-2012 at 12:23 PM. |
