he also lost his bail appeal. the police were "aggressive" in taking him down because it was holed up in a safe room brandishing a shotgun

Seems that Anonymous has hacked a conference call between FBI and Scotland Yard. I thought things like that was done by NSA or GHCQ (the acronym isn't exactly correct, hopefully you know what I refer to)

how it happens is that someone involved in the call or setting up the call gave the ability to access it to "anonymous" or are themselves part of said group yep "Anonymous also published a top secret email apparently sent by an FBI agent, which gave details and a password for accessing the call. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2096035/Secret-FBI-Scotland-Yard-tapped-Anonymous--trying-catch.html#ixzz1lM3FISko" so that agent is compromised. this isnt hacking this is spy 101. him or or someone close gave the info to "the hackers" probably by just forwarding the email. or it might even be a setup. the leak gets anonymous to access the call and then law enforcement uses that as a way to trace individuals who accessed the call. According to the article "The email to officials in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden and France had a phone number and password for accessing the call" - in other words the access details could have come from any number of sources. I very much doubt if this is a set-up or sting operation, in my opinion the likelihood of the information simply having been leaked by an Anonymous sympathiser is a magnitude greater. As for tracing the identity or location of the person making the recording, that'll only happen if the person in question is an idiot and unacquainted with the tools used to avoid exactly that. Not very likely then, if an Anonymous member made the recording. |

i mean they might be able to trace the path of the leak. seed the email to certain individuals you feel might be compromised. when anonymous makes a big deal about gaining access you have your proof that one of your seeds worked. that gives places to direct their investigation. once they find where the leak started they can then work up the ladder like they do with drug busts. they would also , i assume, have access to phone records to show which phone numbers accessed the call. they might have even set up multiple access codes- one for "players" in the sting and another for people accessing through the leak. if the sent "brown" to the folks in on it but "green" to the person not in on it and "green" gets used then you know that guy is the source, etc. |

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46604981...ence-security/ It seems the Anonymous supporters that participated in that spree were volunteering their financial data for some of Mr DotCom's associates/competitors. Quote:
