I read the wrong info. It's an "HD screen," not the branded "Pearl" and definitely not Vizplex.

The good folks at Eink seem to think it uses the pearl screen;

So, all 6inch Eink Pearl displays are not created equal.

Regardless of spec I have seen perceptible differences between screens but there doesn't seem to be any real consistency as to which models get the brighter screens. That said, unless you have them side by side the difference is not that noticeable and even the darkest of the screens is easy to read on.

I can only attest to the ones I've seen, but K3 ~= NT > KT. The KT has noticeably darker background. YMMV.

I guess it's a crap shoot.

Anyway, after going back and forth with the Touch and NT, I ended up returning the Touch. I do prefer the NT form factor and light weight.

Bought a Kindle Fire and am testing it out with the girls, 9 and 13. So far, it's a hit. Maybe I won't have to go broke having to fork over for two iPads.
