move both of those INF files out of the INF folder, put it somewhere different, and rename them to .bad. As well, look for a corresponding .PNF file and do the same thing to them.

Next, check in C:\windows\system32\driverstore for the file INFCACHE.1 move the file to the same location as where you put the INF files. Restart the computer, and let me know your progress.

I have changed my mind over this update now (probably alone in this)

After using it for nearly a week I like this update (had an initial freeze on first day but non since)

recommendations are quite good now, it's started giving me a decent selection, had 3 notifications of new ones which where worth looking into

still things I would like to see added, but for me this has been a good upgrade

No joy. Did as suggested (note that removing the INFCACHE then rebooting will cause PC boot to fail). After recovery of Windows came back in... this time it saw the ADB driver, loaded it then Device Manager said Device can not start. Also noticed the Kobo listed again under disk devices.

The Kobo should always be listed under disk devices, even when ADB is active. USB devices, such as the Kobo, can present themselves as multiple independent devices. Pushing that button on the Kobo to enable USB lets Windows mount the drive (i.e. it lets the user read and write data), but Windows knows that those drives exist either way.

Sorry about being unable to help you with ADB itself, but I wanted to point out those two things so that you can concentrate on the problem rather than on the things that are working properly.

I don't believe that is true. There is some kind of Kobo specific driver loaded on these machines that are experiencing the trouble. I'm just trying to figure out how to remove the driver so they can go to the standard Goolgle driver.

Hi,
I could not update the existing drivers neither on win7 64, nor on win xp.
I used a win7 32 instead.

Hello there,
My Kobo Vox is proposing another update.
Is this normal ? I did the last one one week ago.

Anyone knows how to prevent un-rooting if I launch that update please ?

Thank you

There is another thread already discussing the second recent update.

You will always have re-root after an update.

You're not alone! I actually like the recommendations, too. It gives a good synopsis of the book and gives you the option of downloading a preview to read. I have a few new books on my wish list, thanks to the recommendations.

I'm fine with the update (so far, anyway). My sleep of death problem went away with the last update, but I think I am in the minority on tha one.

I am finding I use my Vox mostly for Zinio (magazines), my borrowed library books (I am too lazy to sideload them onto my Kobo WiFi, so I generally use my Wifi for purchased books and my Vox for my library books - which is a shame, since that means I don't get to do much with Pulse), and the odd browsing/email activity.

I am looking forward to the day that I can get Entertainment Weekly on my Vox, and that way I will be magazine paper free!

USA/Canada update

I was on vacation in Italy when the update was released and I only saw it when I returned home to Montreal.

Recommendations blach

Is there anyway to remove the recommended and only see it when you select the icon? This should be configurable in Settings. I prefer to have 5 books and no recommendations

I neither speak German, or have any German books or books about Germany in my Library. The Kobo team must be having a grand old time rolling around in all that ad-revenue money....
