And in reply to the questions about the collected edition, the 8 parts are free in all formats, but the collected edition will have "...the eight original installments of the epic Lost Tribe of the Sith eBook series . . . along with the explosive, never-before-published finale, Pandemonium—more than one hundred pages of new material!"

I've now finished the graphic novel reimagining of The Force Unleashed, and have picked up the Anniversary edition of "Heir to the Empire" trilogy, which I plan to re-read to get properly back into the Expanded Universe (as Heir to the Empire is what really started it). I think I read every Star Wars EU book up to and including The Courtship of Princess Leia, and maybe a bit beyond that.

My focus right now is on the non-agency elements of it (Heir to the Empire is the only non-agency SW EU novel on Kobo, as it's published directly by Lucasfilm for some weird reason, and the comics/graphic novels are all non-agency too as they're from Dark Horse). Love those Kobo discount codes.

I guess my Star Wars EU cred is pretty decent if you go way back, as I have almost every issue of the classic Marvel Star Wars comic series. I read that from book 4, right to the end. Man, that makes me feel old. :P

Though it's free now, when I first looked at it several weeks ago Amazon was charging 99 cents for the seventh volume. They also appeared to be charging ($5.99 IIRC) for a collection that brought together the first six volumes, at that time.

Now the seventh volume is free (I got it from Books on Board in the meantime, because Amazon was charging for it and BoB wasn't). Amazon appears to have done away with the 6-volume set and replaced it with a pre-order for that complete collection you were talking about... for $11.27. O_o I'm not excited about that price for around 100 pages of new material.

Strange - it was $4.99 just a short while ago - 11.27 is crazy for what has been intended as a free set, all along.

Wonder if it's a geographic thing - I see it as $4.99, still: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0064C3TO2/

It certainly could be a geographic thing, that's always a possibility with Amazon. I'm in Canada.

As far as I can tell, with that set that collects the first six volumes having been removed as far as I can determine, there's no way to get the first six installments through the Kindle Store at the moment. It's all very strange, if you ask me.
