I have seen the Kindle applet on one iPad: you can use whatever background color for the page, the highlights are always showen in yellow.

thanks for thelp
You are right, yellow, not white, then it is reproduced in white on e-ink, unfortunately.
Yeh, I agree, hard to read in seppia.

Yes it is a pity, today I did not find any way to workaround this issue. And I do not think Amazon will upgrade their Kindle's SW for Android devices electronic ink based, because they want to promote their kindle . The only solution is to modify the Kindle applet and change basic colors for highlights. Do you know how to do?

Step 13 could be difficult to get through. I was stuck since I could not enter update mode again. When my T1 was in opening books phase, light did not blink at all and computer could not connect to T1. I kept trying and it worked at last. Many other members experienced the same situation but they overcame it.
I tried step 13 many times. I solve the problem like this: (when the t1 is running, press the reset key), press the home and menu key down until it opening to right most, then press the power key to start(don't leave the home and menu key). This may could help others in this step.
the key is: press the home and menu before start!

I am afraid I lost my device in step 13...

I have been trying for an hour to recover it but it keep on a cycle in the Opening book screen. It never turns off either.

Did any one face this, more than hour hour trying?

Hmmfff, What a relief... I decided to check all the steps before 13 and I found out I had not created the right directory structure in the sd card to hold the update.img file. Interesting that I could pass through 1-12 with the wrong structure but in no way I was able to connect again using the computer to do 13 before fixing the directory layout.

By the way, I did everything under linux (I am an old time linux user). You can use the program minicom to replace putty, just follow the instructions from

http://lxr.linux.no/#linux+v2.6.38/D...get_serial.txt

on how to set it up.

Another detail, at least for me the /dev/mmcblk0p1 was mounted in /initrd/mnt/sd, not in /mnt/sd or /init/mnt/sd. Be careful with this.
