Hi all
Can someone enlighten (or post some links) on what kind of technology is used for the touchscreen in the Kobo reader (I want to shine near my girlfriend ![]() thx! |

The Kobo Touch operates on an Infra Red detection system
A series of vertical and horizontal lines are beamed across the face of the screen, like graph paper When a finger or stylus breaks the lines, it stops the transmitted infrared beam being picked up by the receiver on the opposite side which activates the firmware to complete the function such as page turn etc |

It does! The most reflective part of a finger is usually the fingernail. So you have often trouble to trigger a desired action by tapping near the top edge.

I first saw IR touch screen in 1981 same time frame of Osborn luggable computer.
