Can't Root Vox

Hi everyone. I just bought a Vox yesterday and have been trying to Root it for the last 24 hours. I have followed a whole bunch of tutorials very closely and have had no luck after roughly 20 attempts.
I downloaded Gingerbreak 1.2 and it launches precisely as the tutorials outline and then nothing. I get to the "rooting, running exploit... this may take a few minutes" prompt and that is as far as I can go. I left it there for over 20 minutes at one point and still no reboot.
I have the most recent update installed.

If anyone could help out at all I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Check this thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=170867

Depending upon what you're trying to do, adb also gets the job done.

As per the "March 2 Update" thread, Gingerbreak no longer works. You have to download and install "ADB" for your computer and SuperOneClick (or some other exploit tool using ZergRush), and then follow the instructions in the Mar. 2 Update thread to get your drivers to work on your computer (if you run a Windows PC) and/or the instructions for the actual rooting. Bit of a pain in the butt, I'm afraid, but it should work...

Good luck.

Unfortunately I tried that process and it doesn't work. I'm trying a factory reset to see if it gets to the previous installed version so that I can use it without the current update.

For those having issues with rooting...

JOY! Found a good work around for the rooting not working.

Install Oracle Virtual Box
Setup a vanilla XP OS with USB access
Follow danifunker's root process
