Calibre crashing on startup... - Page 2

Ok, I've now done the following as suggested...

- Checkdisk of hard drive (found no problems)

- Malware and Spyware root scans of HD, Calibre file and Font files (again found no problems)

- Font validator on both the Windows font file and the Calibre font file (once again it found no problems)

I checked the error reports for both the portable and the regular program and they both have the error as a problem with the freetype.dll file...

I'm running out of ideas and patience!!

When you say Calibre font file, what are you referring to?

Could you maybe supply a directory listing of \WIndows\Fonts so we can see EVERYTHING in there?

Have you Validated each font for Damage? Damage is not a disk error or Malware.
Microsoft has a tool (so it must happen more that a few times

)

Also, just how many fonts do yo have installed (Various drivers and programs just love to add compatible fonts) There is a limit before even Windows has issues.
