Cool & clear today (50s F) - gradual warming (with rain) in the coming week - back into the 80s F on Friday! We're on a weather yo-yo!

All my life I've heard people say, "If you don't like the weather in Tidewater, stick around a few minutes, and kiss my...", no, wait, that's not quite right. Anyway, it was something like that; the point being that the weather in Tidewater was known for being wildly inconsistent. But lately it's been out-doing itself. I can't recall the temperatures ever being on such a roller coaster for such a long stretch.

Melbourne claims four seasons in a day. It doesn't do it every day, but there are times ... We are promised a top of 30 celcius today, so summer hasn't quite left after all. |

Unnaturally warm continues! In the 80's F this week - with, of course, the obligatory thunder storm on Friday. [the weather gawds' needle is still stuck!] |

The strange weather continues. The high temperature today will be 56 F; that's 20 F above average and just 5 F off of the record. Tonight's low is predicted to be 7 F above the average daily high. If the prediction holds for tomorrow that high will be 8 F above the previous record.

Still unnaturally hot! Still in the 80's F! Some rain/storms tonight & tomorrow - with relief on the way! In the 70's F next week.

We have had some more welcome rain overnight and it's cooler today. Looking good for our field naturalists' excursion tomorrow.

We have had a couple of quite warm days (good for getting the washing dry!) and now are promised more rain overnight and tomorrow. The garden and the Labrador will be pleased.

Hammered with some early morning storms this morning. Lightning was striking at a rate of 3-5 cloud-to-ground bolots a minute. Not much wind to speak of, so really just a nice early morning light show.

We've had recording breaking highs the last 3 days and if the forecast holds are expecting to break records today and tomorrow. Normal highs are around 6C but we've had temperatures into the 20C+. Actually had a window open all night last night.
