I have 2 kobo wifi's and 1 kobo touch. Have read every post here about kobo touch. Just a common user not a tester. Beta testers provide free service to kobo as they read books they get privilege of extra work documenting software problems buggy software they are testing. Their only reward is contributing to better released software with fewer bugs. If they are not being truthful about software problems they are worthless as beta tester. So no incentive to spin or minimise software problems. Forums like this one always have more threads about problems than about how perfect things are. Don't assume everyone is having same problems with their Kobo. Yes support could be much better. |

And I do agree that the bottom bar should be removable, and I don't really like it, but I don't mind it very much. Come on, how much time a day do you spend looking at your Home Screen? The best firmware that I've tried is 1.9.16 with the latest plug-ins from -ah, take a look at those. With them you can: 1. Make shelves to sort your books. 2. Remove the bottom bar completely. And a ton of other stuff. Have you tried the plug-ins? You just have to download the file and copy it into the .Kobo directory. What I've been saying is that you have to make the best with what you have, if given the option I would remove the bottom bar too.

I have had the page turn problem, too - in several iterations of firmware. However, I got a 'pen' for touch screens, and with that my page turn problem has disappeared! Actually, most problems using the touch screen are gone. Of course, when it is inconvenient to use the 'pen', just a finger is what I use; with the associated problems. |

I'm another swiper, and I don't have page turning problems. And attacking a person's integrity because they were a beta tester? I think that's taking the Kobo hatin' a little too far. |

Kobo monitors this forum. I've emailed them a link to the thread with the poll. Quote:
Also, I'm not convinced swiping is any better. I've tried swiping in the hopes it will work better, but it doesn't. Quote:

I know... It's The Terminators fingers! He has 8 (and two thumbs) so a few of us should be able to get a finger from him and then, we'll be able to turn pages correctly! |

I have had the touch for a couple of months now and i have only turned two pages at the same time once and have never done this again. I put this down to being too heavy handed. My wife has the sony prst 1 and I found it to be less responsive than the touch. I have bought into kobo and have bought the vox as well. I understand everybody has their own standards but every device comes with its own problems and I am sure the kindle has its own and you will be visiting the kindle forum. |

As for calling out the Terminated, no offence was intended, I just call em as I see em. It was my opinion and nothing more. I would regard him as a benefit to the community non-the-less.

I think we have to agree that Kobo's Touch screens seem to vary, but also note that most people on this forum are experiencing problems, that's why they come here.
