I had the same experience - infected nerve root - so I took ibuprofen 4 times a day (be sure to eat something with it!) for a week. The radiating pain should be gone if he got all the nerve out. Good luck!

Lying in a hotel room on my own (with wifi available, thankfully) cursing the fact that my back is playing up. Basically, I'm OK if I stand or lie flat, but sitting causes excruciating pain almost immediately.

Not looking forward to going to work tomorrow (where I'll sit at a desk), or the drive home later in the day.
