Children's books for 3-4 year olds?
For a little girl who likes princesses.

Can anyone recommend some books? I've been searching Amazon but nothing really caught my eye.

The Paper Princess by Elisa Kleven (all her books are charming and her collage artwork is wonderful)

Ladybug Girl is very sweet (we have only read the first one, though)

Fancy Nancy is fun and teaches good vocabulary since she likes to use "fancy" words

These were all loved by my princess-loving girly girl. If you want more literal "princess" books, let me know, I can probably think of some!

The Disney princess books are mostly terrible. They don't even have an author. I picture them written by various interns in the Disney offices. However, if you have a child who loves princesses, there really is no avoiding them!

You could try Hold on to Your Horses by Sandra Tayler and Angela Call. It's not about a princess, but my little tiara-wearing ballerina loves it...

I recommend The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl. It's not about a princess, but the little girl protagonist is very important to the story and she has magical power. Dahl's children tales are thought-provoking and have excellent, whimsical illustrations.
