Portable Document Format (PDF) is an open standard for document exchange.

unless ectaco's license with Adobe PDF prohibit it(since they have to license out the Digitial Editions DRM, and could also be using Adobe's WinCE builds) ...

Hi all,

I have been watching this forum with some interest and have been very unhappy in not getting the upgrade email on my JBC yet and have myself started thinking along conspiracy lines... lol

Anyway, it seems modifying LuBIB's link to the following works!

I can not finish step one (installing OS). The device restarts Normally, there is no update.

Solved:
Make sure to rename the the OS file name to jbcupdate.bin on the micro sd card for performing the OS update. Once it is done, delete or overwrite the jbcupdate.bin on the micro sd with the 1.35GB firmware file jbcupdate.bin on the second step. Do the same on the rest.

I looked at the structure of the other jetbook downloads. If you download, it might be a good idea to check that a later version has not been added, for example, since I originally downloaded the update there seems to have been a newer file added....

Also, there might be 2 versions available;
The educational version (aimed towards the russian schools) and the public market version.
I don't know if they differ much, but just to say... I heard there are 2 different versions available... don't get the wrong one...
