Everyone on a yearly salary over here worked yesterday for free. You guys just did the same today. (Unless you were really canny and had it in your contract to be paid extra on leap years)

No but there is an extra day in the year and most people are paid for 365 days not 366 days.

it has been 12 days since I fell off my bike, and my chest hurts worse than ever!

Last Saturday I was well enough to go to yoga (carefully), and now I am in too much pain to even think about it. I think it is getting worse. (maybe it is because I stopped taking the panadol?)

If I have cracked or bruised my ribs or sternum, there is no treatment. So do I spend a stack of cash (I have no health insurance) on doctors and xrays only to be told to rest for another 6 weeks?

How long should I give it to get better before I give in and get the bluddy x-rays?

Good news - broken fang is fixed and (yes I had x-rays) no bad damage could be seen.

Sounds nasty Sneaky. As much as we moan about the NHS over here, we can at least get x-rays done for "free" (as in, paid for by our taxes). If you are still in so much pain, can't you at least get a doctor's advice before shelling out for the costly stuff?

Sneaky, go to the doctor. With Medicare it won't cost you very much and you need to be sure there's no serious damage. It's not good that the pain is worse than it was.

Sneaky might not qualify for Medicare. Go to the Doctor but negotiate to be charged what a normal insurance company would be charged. I bet if you do some online research you will be able to find out what that is.
