iPad Selecting text in Dictionary

hi guys, i am having trouble selecting word in Dictionary popup. i remember it can be done before, when i was testing an ipad 2 display unit in Apple store... but after getting myself one, it seems impossible.

so, can anyone tell me if this is a normal behavior? or my ipad got some issue? i just want to define some word in the dictionary.

Very odd behavior if it's not showing up.

Try following these steps.

1. Highlight the word by holding your finger on it. A menu should popup like such.

2. If you press 'Define' it should show a text box like the one below.

If this doesn't work, try deleting iBooks and re-downloading the App.

thanks for the reply. but what i meant was selecting the word inside Dictionary popup. like dictionary within dictionary. can it be done in yours?

I just tried it, I don't think I can do it either. Are you sure you did before with the standard iOS dictionary? I think it's possible in the Kindle app, but that one uses a different dictionary.

ok so i went again to the store, and now i confirmed that the dictionary within dictionary thing can be done, in ibooks, ipad 2 os 5.0.1. not sure why it cannot be done in mine and yours.

i forgot to check what version of ibooks it has, though. mine is the latest.
