Definitely warming up here: 29 forecast for today, followed by three days of 34, which is in the 90s F. A good excuse to sit around and read a book to keep cool!

Could you send a bit of that down to us please? Our water tanks are dry because we are trying to keep the garden going. Just before lunch I went outside (and it is warming up out there as predicted) and I found a tiny baby Ringtail Possum on the path, with soft grey fuzz but eyes not open yet. I thought it was dead but then it moved, so I picked it up as gently as I could and put it in a box with an old Tshirt making a nest, and took it up to the RSPCA, which is 10 minutes' drive up the road. He or she was taken off to a humidicrib - aah! |

You can have it now, the pool is full. Anymore and we will have to pump it out. Besides the cat is sick of being inside all day. He went out for a little bit tonight (hoping he had a wee whilst gone), but came back wet and whingy. Sending to you now so it will be fine for Saturday so I can ride my treadlie to the gym, show off my bruises and scars and see how damaged I am. Rain rain go south........ off you go! |

High temps in the 70's F today & tomorrow - in February! In the northern hemisphere! [We're planning an all-day fire drill at work today to get out of the building. Our designated evacuation point is the ice cream store. Safety first! ] |

OK - this is seriously unnatural. February 24 - in North America - low temp last night was 61 F - high temp today to be 72 F! Something is very wrong with the great sky gods!

Same here. It was in the 80's yesterday. Trees were budding in late January instead of early March which would be normal. You are right with the great sky gawds. Any minute now I expect it to start raining cats and chickens.

Still hot in Melbourne - 37 forecast today and tomorrow, which is about 100 in Fahrenheit. On the plus side, the baby Ringtail Possum I rescued the other day has survived and is going out to a wildlife carer to be brought up to release stage. Then it will be brought back to our street to surprise its family with its adventures. |

Rained and thundered off and on today. The high was just after dawn. Now it's getting chilly. I also noticed my flowering cherry tree is blooming! This is the most bizarre winter I have ever seen.

If either of you plant gardens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has released a new plant hardiness map that shifts a large portion of the country about a half a zone warmer. You can see if any changes have been made in your zip code by going to*http://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov
