That's really too bad then.

Somehow or the other, your library, device and browser(s) are not playing nice with each other. If it's not the library and not the device, the only other thing I can suggest is to maybe try a different browser.

And, that's as far as my "expertise" goes I'm afraid. Sorry.

You're welcome. I only wish that I could get my kindle to show me book information like Mantano does. Maybe I'll go ask over at the kindle forum.

Thanks for the K!

EDIT: Answered my own question. There's apparently no place on the mobi file format to store metadata. D'oh. I'm such a noob.

2 column epub?

Sometimes I can get my epub book (not very often to be sure) to go into 2 column mode where I can actually read the font size. Most other times I have to really reduce the font in order to get it to go into 2 columns, and then it is too small to read. I convert everything in Calibre, even epub to epub. It seems as though they should all either be readable or not. Anyone have any ideas of what is going on? I have a Sony S tablet.

Or, Mantano are you getting ready to add that feature - it really makes reading so much quicker.

There is such a place. Mobi can copy the data to a mdp file when you first open the file to avoid having to open it to display this data but the data is stored in the file.

My original aim was to get my kindle 4 to show me book info for non-amazon books I transferred from Calibre the same way it does for amazon books (and Mantano does for every book).

Are you saying that this is possible? If so, could you possibly direct this hapless noob to a thread with instructions? Pretty please?? With cherry on top???

Be sure and install the professional version and you will get a metadata editor built in.

Thanks for the response and the link. I took a look but I really don't think this method is for me. I already have Calibre and Sigil (...and kindle desktop, Adobe digital editions and mobipocket reader!) and really don't want yet another ebook program just to get metadata to show for my kindle.

Thanks again though and much K for you!!!

I have been using Mantano for a couple of days now and have to say I'm pretty impressed.
I'm fairly new to ereading and have tried several apps out but find this one pretty powerful and intuitive.
As with all things there is always room for improvement.
One thing that springs to mind for me is that when sorting the library by series it would be good to see the series name and number within that series displayed without having to long press the book to pull up the tag details.
Just a minor thought on what to me seems like a very good reader.

I've lurked around the forum for a while and created an account to ask about 2 issues I now have with Mantano:
1. On the left column I would sort by Series and there would be a selection for "All Books Without a Series" (or at least I swear that option was there). I jut checked and it isn't. Was that removed? If so, why?
2. In the right section I would sort first by Series and then by Author and the result would be sorted by Author with the Series in order. Now when I do it as soon as I hot Author it sorts it by Author but the order is by Title. Has this behavior changed?

I ask this because I like to sort on the left by Series, and have the books that have no series sorted by Author. I used to be able to set it like the above and it worked for both books with a Series and those without. Now I have to use more effort than before to get my books sorted the way I prefer. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them!

Signed up to be a beta tester yesterday but for some reason, I can't download the beta version of the app. I also haven't received any email with instructions. Thanks!

It took a few days before I received my emails advising me I was now on the beta trial and the instructions on what I needed to do next.

I dumped all the other ebook apps that I had on my phone for Montano, I like it better than the Nook,Kindle,Bluefire,Coolreader,Aldiko, and FBreader apps.
