That's a MMC plus card, not a MMC card.
The iLiad supports just MMC (and therefore up to 1GB). Dirk ![]() |

That's not my dispute...
![]() MMC, MMC plus and SD cards all have different specifications and are different. The iLiad supports MMC cards up to 1 GB. MMC plus and SD up to 1GB may work, but are not officially supported. Dirk ![]() (Don't know, if there's such a beast as a MMC plus card below 2GB, though...) Last edited by DigiDirk; 06-08-2008 at 07:02 AM. Reason: Added doubts about 1GB MMC plus cards... |

Given that a 2GB card may well not work for storage, but that wasn't what bothered me about the post. |

Whatever you call such a card, it won't work in the iLiad

Actually, MMCplus is a completely different standard and is similar to MMC only in very general appearance. Since it has double the number of pins, in two rows, it would be quite hard to mistake it for an MMC.
Also, MMCplus comes in 1GB capacity too, isn't backwards compatible and is still pretty rare. So, while it's completely possible the 2GB card from the original post is an MMCplus card, it isn't very probable. PS: Just as a side note, there are 2GB MMC's (not SD's nor MMCplus') too, but they are relatively rare and require MMC 3.0+ compliant readers. Last edited by orcinus; 06-13-2008 at 06:36 AM. |
