Am reading the article right now, and while most of it is old news for folks here, it brought to my mind a question:
Why is the word "electrophoretic" not recognised by the Mobile Read spelling robot as a cromulent word? Considering the focus in this forum on devices made of such materials, electrophoretic should be added to the lexicon. |

i'm pretty sure any "spelling robots" you may be encountering would be part of your browser (firefox, i presume ?), not MR. it's a good forum, with a lot of functions, but you have to draw the line somewhere. (and therefore, you should be able to add it yourself : right click, add to dictionary.)

Sorry about the double post.
As for those of you whose minds are so simplistic as to wallow only in the salacious depths, y'all nasty. @Zelda: Thanks for saving me from typing an embarrassing missive to Mr. Turcic. My dear lady Pinwheel, I would never eat you. (Okay, I would, but you'd be last) |

To get back to the onerous task of discussing the article cited,
Am encouraged to read that there are a number of less sexy, though no less useful uses for e-inki displays. The "point of sale" devices sound like they could generate a decent amount of revenue for PVI, and thus help finance the new advances (like a 12"x20" full-colour coffee-table E-book. Oh! How Sweet!). As exciting as e-books are, and they do seem capable of finally 'tipping' some time soon, there is probably even more money in commercial/industrial applications. |
