Kobo store?

I went to the chapters website then to ebooks. Guess it takes me to kobo store? Anyways I wanted to buy several ebooks (this is all new to me) do I have to buy them one by one? I was expecting to put them in a cart like other online purchases but did not see any cart symbol

Yes, each ebook is a separate purchase. This is also the case at Amazon for the Kindle.

Be careful in buying as a gift. Remember, that books bought from the majority of eBook stores are DRM protected, and normally, the DRM is tied to an account which is often in turn tied to an eMail address.

It's find if you set up the correct eMail address for the recipient, but if you buy from your account, unless you take steps (cough Apprentice Alf) to remove DRM from the purchased material, it will not be usable under the recipient's account.

The Kobo store has a method of sending books as gifts. I can't comment further, as I have never used it.
