Rama Omnibus, by Arthur C. Clarke

I had a £10 Amazon gift certificate from my amazon.co.uk Mastercard, so I thought that this would be a good buy. An omnibus edition of all four "Rama" books (Rendezvous With Rama, Rama II, Garden Of Rama, Rama Revealed) for £9.99. Of course it's the first one that's the classic, but I remember enjoying the others (co-written with Gentry Lee) when I read them in paperback many years ago. I shan't read this immediately, but it's nice to have it. For £2.50 per book, it's a bargain.

Actually, it sounds like it might have made a good choice for the Book Club, but it's too late for the Romance month. Think it would fit into mystery?
It would fit into mystery no problem.

I would love to read it in Spanish, I'll see if I can find a copy.

I finished The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster. I enjoyed this set a lot. Interesting plots. A bit of geekiness. Really enjoyable.

Now I'm on to Stanley Elkin's Van Gogh's Room at Arles which is a set of three novellas.

Wow — I bought this one way back in August 2008 in a massive splurge in a 100% rebate sale at Fictionwise. It's about time I read it.
And I'm very glad I did. An excellent novel depicting an "ambiguous utopia". Highly recommended. Apart from the interesting depiction of life on the world she describes, the plot is interesting, and I really care about Le Guin's characters, in a way that I don't about the ones in Marsbound and Starbound.

Deliverance Lost by Gav Thorpe. It's one of the last books in the Warhammer 40k Horus Heresy series.

I'll be re-reading some Weis & Hickman Dragonlance novels when I'm done.

I added it to my wish list at my library. Once I clear out a few of the other books I've got holds on right now, I'll check that one out.

Reading The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon. Omnibus from Baen includes Sheepfarmer's Daughter, Divided Allegiance, and Oath of Gold. I thought $6 was a good deal for all three, although Sheepfarmer's Daughter is in the Baen free library.

Just to clarify, I didn't get the book because it was free.. but because I have enjoyed other titles from Steve. Both his Kestral Voyages and Verdant Skys. And, I notice there is a new Verdant Pioneers that I am sure I will grab very soon.

Yes, it's a very good deal. And a great series. I re-read it last spring and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Well, let's see; in The MobileRead Book Club, March is Thriller/Suspense, July is Mystery/Crime, and August is a Free-For-All.

I think I'll make a note to myself to nominate The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon in August. It seems to defy easy categorization, and looks like it would be interesting, especially as how you say it's "hard to put down." A lot of good things have been said about it.
