My feel-good read at the moment is another Perry Mason mystery, The Case of the Vagabond Virgin. I read a chapter to catch my breath between all the other books I'm reading at the moment.

I plan to re-read the series too, as soon as they are available as eBooks. I know they are having issues getting Pottermore up and running. But, I don't understand why they have delayed selling the books. At least from what I see you still can't by ebook versions of them.

JKR said Book 4 is a pivotal book with critical info to the plot line. It was a good one too.

Currently reading:

- The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (66%) [third time]

- The House of Silk: The New Sherlock Holmes Novel by Anthony Horowitz (27%)

- Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill (25%)

- A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin (31%) [on hold]

- A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin (20%) [on hold]

I'm really enjoying The House of Silk. Horowitz nailed the feel of Conan Doyle's work so much it actually does feel like a long-lost Holmes novel.

Be interested to hear how you get on - as you know it's on my named books reading list for this year.

Ah, my feel good read is usually Georgette Heyer. No stress, no excitement, but always amusing and quite enjoyable. Thinking of adding some Poirots to my list of "in-between" reads.

What the blue blazes? Did I really really just use the word 'read' as a noun? Cripes! I'm contaminated! I'll try not to let that happen again!

rereading Game of Thrones by GRRM. read it years ago, have owned the series for years but never read past the 1st one so now i'm looking to continue.

embarrassingly i have to read it on the 'ol kindle now. i'm only 34 but my eyes just can't take the dense text in the paperbacks.

I read Death Tidies Up in two sittings, when the power was out. It was ok, especially for a freebie. By the end I was really annoyed with the author's age-related pronouns: "the elderly lady," "the younger woman," "the teenager," etc. I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't read it so fast. Also a somewhat unlikable main character.

Still reading David Copperfield and The Skull Mantra.

Nearly finished "The hare with the amber eyes" by Edmund de Waal. What an amazing book, it really makes history come alive.

I'm reading The Honor Due A King by N. Gemini Sasson, it's the 3rd book in The Bruce Trilogy. I've enjoyed the books so far, but this one is riddled with errors. The last half of the second book was too. It's almost like whoever edited the second book stopped paying attention half way through. Even some of the chapter titles had the wrong year, like "James Douglas Bannockburn June 23rd 1304" (it should have been 1314) another one was titled "James Douglas Bannockburn June 23rd June 1304". I haven't gone through 4 straight pages of this last book without at least one typo. I was only at 8% when I caught the first error.
