I tried it with an US Am Ex Business card and because it was a US Address for the card it was not accepted.

Thanks guys! I'll fiddle around with my options and see what I come up with. One thing I was thinking of doing was use my sister in laws old address or her parents address. She recently moved here from the Uk. I see her next month when we go visit down in California so I'll ask then. I might be able to figure something else out in the mean time. I have tons of books to read and can probably wait till it comes out in Nov. in hardback with hopefully a kindle counterpart, but I hate waiting so long between books in series as I tend to forget what happens lol. Anyways, I feel for those outside the US that have to deal with geo restrictions far more frequently than I do. Publishers should change that. I have bought video games from the UK amazon, maybe I'll just buy the paper book. We'll see.

I understand there are reasons for geographical restrictions. What irks me is how Africa is treated as a country by those restrictions I've encountered. I haven't checked - and doubt it - but are any other continental regions treated like that?

With a population of 1 billion, there's surely a market for digitally delivered books where physical book infrastructure is lagging behind.

well, my country is called Europe according to Amazon. And hey I'd love to buy Star Wars Zahn ebooks but it is not allowed.

I see some of the German editions are available as ebooks though. Do you have access to this title, Chi? I also found him listed at Baen.

Most of them will be never, though in lots of places. So not very useful.

Did you try buying on the Amazon UK site? That will likely not work.

If you did, then change country to UK - look it up on Amazon.com and buy it there. If that is what you did already, ignore. Or try a garden variety VISA card or something.

Yes I do. I even started to read it but don't like it too much. I'd love to have the Thrawn trilogy and the follow up to it - but the only one I could legally buy as ebook was the latest "Choices of One" from Kobo.
