New Reader with great pdf-support: Mantano Reader (like aldiko+ezpdf)

Hi Taosaur,

Thank you for reporting this problem. We tried to reproduce it in our current development branch, but it works well. Since we have achieved many code refactorings, this bug may have disappeared as a positive side-effect. The current code which handles this sort method is exactly the same as for the other sort methods.

A new release will be published pretty soon, next week.

Thank you for mentioning this link. Our platform will provide data backup and sync between devices, and in a second milestone, sharing of books and annotations between users. These will be subscription-based services.

I'm just describing my own experience. I have a nook color with cm7 and (with minor issues,) Mantano is able to download and open Adobe epub books directly from my library. When I click on the .acsm file, every ADE-authorized app on my device (Overdrive, Aldiko AND Mantano) is presented as an option and all three are able to download and open a library book. However, I can't return the book early.

Also, in case you were right that the books didn't contain DRM, I tried to open them with Coolreader and Moon+. Neither of those were able to open the downloaded library books but Aldiko (ADE authorized) opened them just fine.

Maybe it's an issue of different devices?

It wont work on the Kindle Fire at my library. I tried. It gives me the mobile site everytime. So I can't test it.

Are you using the stock browser or something else? (like Opera or Dolphin) See if the browser you're using can have it's user agent set to desktop so you get full sites instead of mobile.

I've tried all 3 and only Dolphin will give me the full site but it wont let me download the format. It doesn't recognize it. Now I haven't tried yet on FLOP's site just my local one.

For me, it works with both opera AND dolphin browsers (both mobile AND full sites) on my nook color AND my android phone. Although with my phone, it kept wanting to open with overdrive. I had to uninstall overdrive to force it to give me Aldiko and Mantano as options. Can't say I'm going to miss Overdrive since the books look so much better on Mantano and Mantano has so much better reading options.

Hmm...I might just go ahead and uninstall Overdrive from my Nook Color too.

I think it depends on the library. My local library doesn't allow mobile check out on epubs.

You may be right about that. Also, do you think you're having so much trouble downloading with the kindle fire because technically speaking, the kindle fire as a "kindle" device is not supposed to be compatible with epubs?

Then again, if the overdrive app works on your kindle fire then, why can't Mantano? So strange.

No I think it's the whole mobile vs desktop issue. Opera wont see it as a desktop and Silk wont either. Dolphin just takes me to a page full of gibberish.
