I would light the oil lamp first because then you can carry it to the heater and the stove (and you will be able to see) to light them with it. But that seems to obvious.

Hah! Actually I don't think "candy" would have come to me so quickly if I had not been primed for such a "trick" answer by the previous 'flame lighting' question. In fact, mathematics enthusiast that I am, I was for a bit pondering the the implications of two years of data versus a cubic least squares model.

I will have to give some thought to coming up with the next question without resulting is something mathematical.

The whole pets, colors, beverages, tobacco result left me confused as to who really should win anyway. So if just about anyone has a good quiz question please jump in.

Without trying to sound like a cliche, I don't feel that this thread is about winning. It's about playing. Having a winner just makes it easier to only have one question going on at a time. It's the thinking/guessing/playing that makes it all fun. Winning is just a bonus.

So here is a question that I hope won't prove intractable. There are in biological classification in the Class Mammals two subclasses: Prototheria and Theria. The second includes 25 Orders and 1,000s of species. The first includes only one Order [Monotremata] and that contains two species of one mammal and one species of another. Name (the common name) the two members of Monotremata and where both are located in the world. Don't get hung up in the scientific names, it is easy really with a little knowledge of the unusual life in the world.

Is it the platypus and the spiny anteater? From Australia?

although I think one of them is an Echindna.

Going to look up whether Echidnas eat ants.
