CoolReader supports Chinese ebooks, if you select one of the default Chinese fonts. However, since the Kindle 3 supports Chinese out of the box you don't have to install CoolReader, unless you have lots of Chinese ePubs.
If you're primarily interested in Chinese, Duokan 2012 would be the better option anyway, because it comes with an English-Chinese StarDict dictionary and several IMEs.

AFAIK, so far only Duokan Lite/2012 contains a (poorly implemented and buggy) StarDict version.

AFAIK, there's no dictionary support in CoolReader and it's not very likely that this feature will be added anytime soon. The same goes for PDF support, which is also better handled by Duokan 2012 in spite of the current bugs.

I'm going to take part in further development of CoolReader 3 for Kindle. So I create project on code.google.com

(Current Version: 13.01.2012 Version 0.1.7 Version crengine: 3.0.54-33).
Besides, you can get there all other things that needed for running CoolReader3 on Kindle 2/3/DX (jailbreak and launchpad). For Kindle 4 NT this version also suitable, but jailbreak and launchpad should be other.

Is there any chance that support for these languages will be added in future builds?
(An Arabic ePub test file can be found in this thread.)
Also it would be nice to have access to mobi or StarDict dictionaries.

No I think better you should convert epub to fb2 on ebook.online-convert.com/convert-to-fb2 and then use fbKindle with manual language and codepage choosing. It passed your test.
But CoolReader3 tries to autodetect codepage and always use LTR . It failed in test. In nearest future support for RTL languages is not planed.

Russian.ts - russian localization of CoolReader 3. If you want to localize CR3 on your language you should download Russian.ts, edit all sentences with your language in any Unicode editor (Notepad for example). Then you get me link or by yourself using unix command

lrelease -verbose Russian.ts -qm Russian.qm

Result file Russian.qm (for example) put into directory
cr3/data/i18n and in CoolReader 3 settings choose appropriate new language. Restart CR3 ...

@VladKi Just for fun I localized for French. Strangely, most dialogs remained in english and just a few are being translated in french... I wonder what is wrong
