I think the Good Mister Wood is suggesting that the most eager buyer would be himself, but that this is more based on market than blackmail. Thus the value would be undermined by his own demand.

I finally emailed Nate the Great to ask about that Alien from the Dog Star avatar, and he redirected me here. How'd I miss so much hilarity? I tried to be polite, in case it was his beloved pooch, and called it "cute in a freaky way." Mostly, though, it's just freaky!!

Now where's that can of air freshener?
