yes he did. BUT - Before I bought it for him we discussed the computer requirements and he knew upfront his current computer will not handle it as the mouse needs a lot of memory. But as he wants to upgrade anyway he will be able to use its full potential with the new computer (soon, in coming weeks I guess). So, we tried but the current slow computer didn't yet allow to see all capabilities.

I have one
I couldn't get one before I went on vacation, but I got it today.
The installation was annoying and I don't even know what the problem was. The driver installed fast enough, and the mouse was working as a mouse practically immediately. I was getting the initial installation screen with bright pink buttons. After I pressed the install button it tested the performance of my system, I pressed the next install button and ... nothing. The mouse was working fine as a mouse, but the scan button did nothing. I tried it about 5 more times, but it didn't do anything. Google didn't really get my hopes up as it seems that it sometimes crashes during installation and people weren't really happy with the scanner function or the size of the mouse. I rebooted the system and ran the installation again. It still didn't do anything but at least the optical drive was making a noise like it was working on something. I left it alone and 20 minutes later I got the end user license agreement screen. After that it went smoothly. Scanning You don't have to worry about scanning in perfectly parallel lines or even holding the mouse at a certain angle during the scan, the only thing that you shouldn't do is lift the scanner because that will stop the scan. The image is easy to rotate and crop in the software. Resolution It has 3 settings: low, medium and high. The higher setting gives a clearer image, but all work. Size Quote:
Scanning single pieces of paper smaller than A5 is the is the easiest thing to do because you can use the mouse pad that comes with the mouse. It has a transparent surface under which you can slide the piece of paper and then you don't have to worry about keeping it in place. Books aren't fun to scan. They are not impossible to scan, but it isn't easy. If you have just a piece of paper, when you move the sensors over the edge of the paper you are just scanning the surface that it's resting on. With a book there is a distance between the page you are scanning and the surface that the book is resting on, so if you go over, the scanning process stops. Then you have the binding edge that you have to flatten out anyway, and if the text or image that you are trying to scan is too close to the border you are going to have to be very careful because you'll want do move the scanner partially over the other page to get everything. Thank you for posting this. . I've been wondering how this would work for scanning books. Not so great, it sounds like.

If you want a paragraph it works great. It was much easier to scan the system requirements from the manual and paste them than it would have been to type them. And it is possible that it would get easier in time.
