Hi JJ, sorry you're having issues. I know it's a pain but I think I agree with HarryT. If you can, purchase your books from Amazon and use Calibre.

Hey Duck,
Glad to see you put your .02 cents in and stick up for me , Yes I am currently traveling, and in this instance location really isnt the point it just hinders my options for the time being, I may do the amazon/calibre thing but there are other options books on board, fictionwise etc which I am more than happy to do just figured I would give Sony the benifit of the doubt for ease of use but after my third attempt with them to resolve the issue I explained it all again to them and proceeded to close my account. Just hope the deauthorization from Sony doesnt mess up other account purchases thru Adobe... And Deb dont be a stranger!!!

I didn't realize about the military. But we have had a lot of people asking questions where we can't give the answer because the answer depends on the location and the location is not given. If it was given, then that would make things that much easier when trying to help.

JJ, You will be sorry if you give up your Sony 950 because of a minor snit.

Come back to your senses and appreciate that the 950 is probably the best reader around.

Oh I am not giving up on my 950, there are plenty of work arounds to keep on using it, However the 300 and 350 will probably be leaving the family.

Nah, lurk mode works for me right now (less drama). I'm so out of the loop on what is happening in the ebook reader world. I have so many devices to cover my reading needs (many Kindles, many tablets and a Sony) that I don't feel the need to keep up. I just check in about once week to make sure I don't miss anything really important.

Happy reading to you!

JJ's description is in stark contrast to what Sony's stated policy is. I have dealt with their main office in Japan and they have been very understanding and helpful. It might be an idea to contact them from their Japanese site Sony Japan and send them a link to this discussion. Usually makes their overseas offices quite worried.

That's my impression. Have had years ago anger with Sony. For example the CS didn't answer my Emails (a noteworthy amount) until I wrote that I will write to Sony-Japan directly. Answer came instantly.

I have had VERY good luck with Sony Customer Service, including for technical help and deserved refunds/discounts/etc.

a) Call back and try again

b) If they don't help, ask for a supervisor.
