Frankly, I prefer using a tablet to read manga. Zoom is nice and speedy, there are many apps to choose from, and it's cheaper than getting a 9.7" ereader. (I got mine for $300 on sale, and other models regularly retail refurbished in the low 300s or less)

I would vote for an Android tablet.

I have 7" tablet, and Kobo Touch. For reading comics, tablet wins hands down.

I prefer the Asus Transformer because the screen is of fairly high quality. I'd advise you to go to a store where they sell various types of tablets so that you can compare screens. I prefer using the largest screen I can get for manga, so I'd say 10.1" screen.

It is cheap chinese no-name tablet, pretty much like Kobo Vox. Tablet itself is not so great but almost any tablet wins e-book reader when reading comics (if you can install decent comic reading application to it).

Its color display, scrolling speed and page handling speed is just better. I hate to read any books from it anyway, the screen is just too bright.

Kobo Touch is actually quite OK device for comic reading - but there is one bug. If you use landscape mode and zoom the page to fit width, then the scrolling doesn't work. One needs to zoom in just a little bit to be able to scroll. Otherwise comic reading works nicely, and scroll speed is surprisingly fast for an e-book reader.

KT works great for me, with CBZ and CBR formats, I've already read many Japanese mangas (even in Japanese language!) and American and Italian comics.

It depends on the comic.

Most classic Disney comics are very nice and readable (see http://images-srv.leonardo.it/proget...maginetake.jpg for example), at least the Italian versions.

Marvel have often many things written, so there are small fonts. See, for example, http://gonintendo.com/wp-content/upl...img111ho11.jpg

Japanese mangas... depends. Usually they have big fonts so they are quite readable... unless you're just like me, still studying Japanese characters so having difficulties remembering how to read 万歳 (banzai) even when written bigger like a page!
