alas, my lighted cover for my k3 is broke. Amazon has tried (twice) to fix it, but I suspect the problem is in the kindle contacts.

Until I read someplace I trust that this not-yet-for-sale thing actually works, I'm goin' with monkey. And signs are that I'm not going to evolve into a more humanoid species anytime soon. Consider:

The completely self-explanatory SolarKindle which harnesses the sun to keep Amazon's eReader powered for up to three months.

In other words, the claimed Amazon 2 months that I (who doesn't turn off wireless) experience as 2 days becomes 3 months. Or 3 days. Or still is 2 days because I hardly ever read outdoors, and avoid full sun.

It is my dream to be marooned on a deserted island with a reader with more books than I can read in a lifetime. I have a small solar charger, but this is better.
