PRS-T1 vs Kindle?

Hi.

I own a Sony reader PRS-550 but the screen broke and now I feel the necessity to buy a new one.

I'm between the newest Sony model PRS-T1 and the new Kindle Wi-Fi 6".

I usually use my reader to read manga converted with the programa comicrlf, so I don't know the issues with kindle about that.

Any opinion?

They are both very good reading devices, but it really depends what your format preference is. The primary reason for buying a Kindle is Amazon's excellent bookstore and the ease of the whole Amazon book-buying "experience", but if you already have a large library of ePub-format books, it would make more sense to go with the Sony.

The PRS-T1 does not read LRF.

I suggest you try both in store. The T1 has more under the hood but the Kindle buyosphere is more developed. Depends on what you want.

Lrf doesn't matter. You can convert them all to epub in Calibre. Manga works okay on a Sony. However, the K5 (non-touch) doesn't support landscape, so a major show-stopper for you I would imagine.

Because you are reading manga, I recommend the Sony over the Kindle. It's more flexible with viewing and file formats, which is important when reading manga.
