Another silly question, did you hold the power button for 10 seconds, then let go, then hold it for 5? Last edited by msxman; 01-06-2012 at 01:46 PM. |

All, CrimsonCat is a lot further down the rabbit-hole than being able to just format the device.

I'm working directly with them through PM, and hope to have recovery instructions for all our Vox needs in the near future... |

Hi, I followed the instructions given, however File Expert simply will not copy files from the SD card. No matter what I try it says Operation Failed.

They updated the file explorer last night... it looks like something is broken on that software. In the meantime try to use ES File Explorer for the file copying. I will also try and put together some kind of script that you can run shortly...

			Hello again everyone,

Crimsoncat - I feel your pain!! OK, so I've now installed (succcessfully) gingerbreak - thank you Mr. Nobody for the instructions. However, when I attempt to use EX Explore to 'root' the drive, even after the gingerbreak app asks about permissions, I'm repeatedly told that 'this feature cannot run on my phone'. It's also asking me about the type of Ram I have? This is a new and exciting development, and I'm wondering if it is perhaps somehow connected to the 'broken' software. As always, thanks again for all your help!! |

Do you mean ES File Explorer? Or Root Explorer? (two different pieces of software...danifunker's post above says Root Explorer is currently busted)

No you need to use ES. I've never seen that error message. You get it when you try to mount /system as read/write or when?

I get when I click on the 'Root Explorer' box. I get the 'this is an experimental feature' blah blah, I hit 'Yes', and then another window pops up asking me about Rom. My two choices are 'Cyanogen Mod' and 'HiAPK'. 'HiAPK' seems to be the default'.

Once I do that, a little grey menu popps up saying 'Sorry, this feature cannot run on your phone.' The 'Mount File' menu button is already depressed. Suggestions? |
