I must admit, the Translation Notes by John Bester has piqued my interest and calmed my fears about the story being all doom & gloom.

No, it's not a doom and gloom story! Or rather, I guess the story is pretty sad, but not written in a dark way. Granted I'm only 30-something pages into it, but it's very nice so far!

Currently reading two other books, but I picked up the e-book version of Black Rain from Amazon. It'll replace a book on my 2012 reading list which is a bonus for me. Not sure when I'll start it, maybe near the third week of January.
