Android Market Annoyance

On the Vox, I googled and arrived at the Android Market.
I asked for "BBC Radio" app.
It would not install because it said that there was no android phone with my account ( I was signed in to my gmail account. I tried my google account with the same result.)
For a start; I cannot see why it bothers with accounts - the app is free!
I have tried getting apps from "Getjar" (3 so far) They apparently installed but would not play.

Did you uncheck the "allow apps from unknown sources" box?

Hello "hpulley"
The "unknown scources" setting is still at its default setting of "ticked".
I will try and buy without it being ticked. However; one would think that by having it ticked; extra items would be accepted. Whereas with it unticked; one would think that some items would be denied?

You can't buy from the Android market unless you follow the instructions in the linked post hpulley has given you. Some apps will not work regardless because this is not a phone and has no audio-in capability, no gps etc. Some apps have particular requirements to work and if the device does not meet them, even though you install it, it will not work. Skype is an example...
