There's a very nicely done 5-part adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Tale of Two Cities" available for free download (in MP3 format) from:

Each episode is 45 minutes long. The first four parts are currently there; the final episode will be there tomorrow. It will be available for a week.

Hopefully this will be of interest to someone. I believe it should be available world-wide; apologies if this is not the case.

BBC Radio is my favorite and I love their productions; especially the classics.

These audio podcasts are also available from within Apple's iTunes under podcasts. They are free there too.

This is a simpler way to get these onto your Apple hardware for most people.

I gave away my 32GB iPt4 and kept the 8GB iPt4 I ordered on Black Thursday. Lack of speaker docks for the Galaxy Player meant attaching two cords and laying it flat in order to stream radio stations. So I looked at the unopened iPt4 and thought, why not. For $145, it makes a most excellent internet radio/ audiobook/ podcast player.

So, I still have an iDevice; but demoted it.

Generally speaking, BBC Radio is available world-wide; TV is restricted to the UK only.

I downloaded all five episodes but waited a week before listening to them. I thoroughly enjoyed the first four, especially Robert Lindsay as Dickens, but was devastated to find out episode five had failed to download properly and I was only able to listen the the first five minutes of it. That I found this out on the day after the podcasts were available has made it all the more annoying. I know what happens and I'll re-read the book but I'd really like to hear this last episode so does anybody know when this will be repeated or if they have an episode five download still available?

"A Tale of Two Cities" Audiobook voiced by Jane Aker is in iTunes Podcasts but it has a lot more than 5 chapters. It is done in half hour sets, a total of 31 Episodes. There is also "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", "Heart of Darkness" and "Scarlet Letter" all free Podcasts in iTunes.

Episode 3 is still available on the Tale of Two Cities homepage. Weird that it's the only one listed. Maybe episode 4 will appear next week and episode 5 the week after? No indication that it will happen, but who knows.
