Folder Sorting

I'd like to be able to create renamable folders in the library and put books inside. It would be easier to filter and sort the ebooks, especially when you have a lot of them.

An "Update Database" button. Sometime you have to do this with the SDCard.

In pdf, a user definable doubleclick ratio / per book...

No more ads and a direct link to local library first...The bookstore should come second.

The original Kobo had both these features.

Would also like to see page count of each book in library view so I know how big the book is before I open it. Thanks!
The other Kobo's didn't have a customizable home screen either. The K1 and K2 have a list of books reading and the Touch has the mosaic. I don't really know how they could implement titles into the Mosaic, have you tried using Calibre to put covers onto your books?

The page number at the bottom really shouldn't overlay PDF documents. The top of the "PG. _ OF _" should be taken as the bottom of the screen instead of the bottom of the physical screen. For instance, I have a PDF of the bible which is really nicely formatted to use an ereader's whole screen. Because it uses the space at the bottom of the page, some text gets lost behind Kobo Touch's page number. In practice, this makes the file unusable.

Once that is fixed, I would love to have the option to remove the page number for both ebooks and PDFs. Just like the name of the book and the author, I would rather see that info in the quick menu than have it take up reading space.

Yes! I fully agree. I would love to have a globally option to remove the page number for both ebooks and PDFs.

Can we get an update for the browser? I know it isn't officially supported, but it would be really useful if it worked.

Right now there is no indication if a link press worked, or if anything is happening at all. Sometimes after waiting for a while the page will update from clicking a link, and other times it will just sit there forever leaving me wondering if it is trying to connect, or if the site is down, or if it didn't register the click.
This also happens when manually entering a url; the screen just sits there on the homepage forever and eventually I get frustrated enough to give up. Does entering a url in the address bar actually do anything at all?

Try putting http:// in front of the website's name - without it it seems to just ignore it.

It does actually have a little activity meter circle above the URL. To tell if a link has registered your click it will have a dotted line box around it once it "takes". I find clicking links more consistent if you zoom in from the default zoom level.

YIKES! I just downloaded and installed the latest firmware upgrade and discovered that they have slipped in the start of advertising at the bottom of the home screen. I don't want to see the latest featured, short listed or new releases at the bottom of my Kobo screen. I get emails DAILY from Kobo. I don't need advertising on my Kobo Touch too!!. I paid full price for the device and want just my books showing.

My firmware request: dump the advertising!!

The books on the Shortlist are your books. They only appear there if you have selected books from your library to add to the Shortlist.

Perhaps they can keep the code but not on the home screen.. My suggestion would be to move it over to a 'Shop' page that will show "Recommended", "New", "Featured", etc. w/o connecting to the shop initially. If the user wishes to then connect to the shop provide some kind of "Connect to Shop" link/button on that page. The "Shortlist" view however is quite useful for me.

I agree that the Shortlist option is awesome (Thought it would be nice if the books were randomized whenever you go back the home screen). I think people are making way to much of a deal out of this.

And I actually like the "New Releases" and "Featured" options, I don't stick with them for normal but I like to check out the new reads after I'm done a book and switching the views is quicker than going to the store front.

Hmm, yeah, why aren't the new/featured/recommended lists in the store rather than the front page? My request would be to move them there, eliminate one of the carousels (or whatever you want to call them) and make the remaining one selectable for shortlist/newly added/recent reads. Then, and this is important to me, put the wrench back on the home screen along with links to the library, shop, whatever just do away with the drop-down menu.

Hi, I'm new here, I would like to give a small sugestion to the product team.

There is some pdf that I would like to read on my kobo. I read them in landscape mode and I zoom in just enough to keep a full line of text without the margins. I finished two books this way.

I would like my kobo to be able to read pdf more efficiently by turning page with a button at the bottom of the page instead/like the button on left or right. It is more intuitive and it could keep the alignment that I made. Just like we do on computer, we don't turn page from left to right, we just scroll down.

Not much pdf are formated to 6 inch tablet, that's why we use landscape and zoom. Think about the for dummies editions, the larger size formated pdf like paperback book... and reflow is just bad.

Thanks

At a risk of sound pathetic, but how does one get daily emails from Kobo? I get them from Amazon and I find them good to see what is coming etc. With Kobo I have my account setup to get all the info on latest Kobo books, and just as a safe measure put my email address in on the main page to join the mailing list. So far I have got nadda, zip, zilch.

Am I not worthy of Kobo emails? Is my blood tainted from 12+ months of Kindle ownership
