Three Cases To Consider
I've joined the ranks of the T1 owners thanks to the generous gift of my sister!!!
I received a red T1 in the mail from Sony about a week ago. I am enjoying all of the new features - some of which I will use. I'm still going to surf the internet on my 24 inch monitor. I've run into the dictionary thing a couple of times and oddly missing text. I turned the page in the middle of a sentence and the next page was at the beginning of a paragraph??? I reduced the font size and the missing text was there. When I enlarged the font again the text was missing again. Odd The feature that I hadn't heard about and love the most is the setting that lets me choose what font size ALL of my books open in. Until now all books had opened in a tinsy tiny font that I had to immediately change. OK, on to the purpose of this post. I had to find a home for my new baby. Being a nekid reader I was looking for cases, not covers. Here are 3 that I've come up with that all seem to work quite nicely. The M Edge Latitude Jacket for Kobo Touch and Kindle Touch is new $25 from Walmart: Seems to do the trick and notice how nicely the colors match. I will use it for travel because for everyday the little straps are little annoying. The bottom 2 are leatherlike and the top 2 are elastic. The Sony zippered sleeve is the home for my sister's pink 350 but holds the T1 nicely. It's not quite as rigid as the M Edge but seems to do the job. Sony.com currently has this one in blue for $12.99 in the outlet store. The gold Case Logic case was the home for my 600 which is currently being used by a dear friend. It has the magnetic closure and I like it for everyday use. I also found that the stylus slides into the corned and hooks over the edge nicely. Since my gold case is being used elsewhere I had to find a replacement and found it at Amazon for $5.99. I've attached several pictures. I hope this helps if you're looking for a case. |

It's Xmas and ereader case time!
Nice cases, well suited to protect in ladies' handbags, which I'm told are some of the most dangerous environments on earth.

Sleeves are not good and I dislike the straps that sit on the buttons of the T1.
Gecko makes some nice covers for the T1 that do not have straps. |

And one I wholeheartedly share with JSWolf and I'm even worse than that. Any cover that has any type of straps holding the reader in place are a definite deal killer for me, they don't even have to be touching any keys or covering any port, I personally just hate them. Hate the look of it, hate the feel of brushing against something that's not the smooth surface of the reader, and hate that they all eventually will stretch out and become loose with time.
But good thing readers all have their own variety to them, as do their covers and skins so we each can have it as we want it! ![]() |

You know, I clearly stated in my first post that I read without a cover on my reader. Always have and always will. It works for me and I don't need or want a lecture on the dangers of a naked reader. I have seen others that also read without a cover looking for a safe way to transport their reader and thought they might find something useful in my post. Everyone has their own way of doing things and that should be respected. I don't waste my time posting my opinions about using a reader with a bulky cover on it every time a discussion of covers comes up. That would be rude in my opinion. Besides, I have better things to do with my time.
As to the straps, since I am only transporting the reader the straps are a nice security feature. If the zippers are opened on all 3 sides I'm confident the reader will not fall out. Soapbox is free now. |

That's why there are so many flavors of ice cream! ![]() I agree with Debi in that nobody needs to be lectured on the dangers of using something in a way that the responder doesn't, ie a naked reader. It's rude & unnecessary. |

It depends on how new you are to MR and/or eink reading. If you don't know the risks, then it's a good idea to let people know.
I think it's a good idea to let people know and then they can decide what they want to do. |

What you said was fine if you start your own thread, but I think we should respect OP's request when we are responding, and not hijacking a thread to push our own personal opinion. |
