Yes, it's having the heat on all the time, and the cold outside also reduces the amount of moisture in the air. But nothing like a nice hot cuppa to help.

While I have some favourite blends, there's a purity in single teas that I also appreciate. I find myself drinking more and more single teas, and less of the blends. And don't discount India blacks such as Darjeeling based on what is called that in a tea bag.

Darjeelings vary hugely, from a delicate, pale, first flush Darjeelings from one of the better estates, to smooth but full bodied second flush, to positively harsh blends that are what many think Darjeeling is.

That being said, I'm finding greens and Oolongs on the green side of the scale are what I'm drinking day in and day out. I buy Lung Ching by the 1/2 kilo, and am seriously thinking about doing that with Ti Kwan Yin. Though on the absolute far end of the spectrum there is nothing like a good Lapsang Souchong on a cold rainy day.

Yea, used to live here before...and a LOT further North before that...but six years living darn near in the tropics spoiled me. So, must remember to drink some water in the AM. And find a decent humidifier soon.

But now, time for some oolong.

And no, that was not really sarcasm regarding KY because I drink out of them all the time. In fact...

In my mason jar - water, with ice.

I'd prefer something sweet with bubbles but I'm trying to recover from the unhealthy amounts of caffeine, sugar, and other things I consumed in Florida.

Good morning, everyone. For those who celebrate Christmas, I hope you had good one. I opened a fresh pound of Peets' Garuda blend coffee this morning.

So, most of my clan gathered at my older sister's house for Christmas. She made an amazing egg nog in a punch bowl. A block of coffee ice cream sat in the middle of the egg nog and slowly melted through the evening. It was heavenly. (An alternate ice cream flavor is pepperment, which I'd love to try.)

Hi all. Back from vacation. I have not read the massive back log of posts, sorry.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas or whatever you celebrate. I had a great time and enjoyed time with family and friends and some nearly naked Daniel Craig in Girl With Dragon Tattoo. It was a good trip but it is great to be home with the doggies.

And starting the second trimester.
