I think for home use and business use, the 10" will always be more popular. For road use, I doubt it. |

All three 10, 8 and 7 inch tablets won't work for me. I tried HTC flyer, Archos 80g and returned both of them and don't want to go near 10 inches as it reaches the vicinity of my laptop and I don't have any use for a tablet that I can't carry. I would have bought Google nexus had it been a 5 inch phone. I am willing to fork my hard earned money if a manufacturer comes out with a 5 inch screen android tablet without their non-removable crap on it.

I really think it's the price that makes 7" tablets so popular. $200 is a lot more affordable than $500-700...

Probably true, but not in my case. I already had a 10" Xoom and yes bought the fire for both the price and the Amazon ecosystem access, but now that I have it the Xoom is lonely.

Anyway, don't forget about the folding and flexible displays. When either of those hit the market, which might not be that far off, it will mean you no longer have to compromise so much between screen size and portability. Last edited by Dylrob; 12-23-2011 at 11:52 AM. |

I had thought that it would fold out to present a virtual 10" screen with a hinge down the middle, but the review doesn't seem to say that. I think I could get used to that kind of arrangement in order to gain the portability and still have a 10” screen. |

What has impressed me so far is a magnificent screen, pictures, colors, fast as lightning, great sound! Better than my laptop which was very good in its day. It has all the little things like when you touch a key, you get tactile feedback. I guess it has a little solenoid inside that thumps the chassis and gives you a positive sound and feel indication that your keystroke counted. And it is so handy dandy with the size like my Kindle but much easier to use and navigate. I think that I am going to reduce my Smartphone use a lot, even change the plan. I love it. ![]() The only problem is I looked it up on Amazon and saw the price, and now I am worrying about whether my boy could really afford that much for a Christmas present for me. Of course I can't say anything or ask questions. It is the price of being a parent. You worry a lot. |

![]() Plus here's my two cents: 1. How many 7" tablets are there now versus 10"? 2. Folks like easier portability which was mentioned in many posts. 3. I'd be quite surprised if the figures weren't KF being the main reason as folks like dealing with Amazon and have now have tablet access with Prime Membership to boot and not having to spend lots more dollars for a tablet besides. 4. 7" with an Android tablet is closer in size to their Andriod phones may have at least a little to do with it. I love the 7" size for travel and portability. It's all I need to surf the net and check email. It fits very nicely in my purse.
