Don't use the add-on GUI. Use ConvertLIT from the command line with the LIT, ConvertLIT binary and key file all in the same directory.

Does that mean I have to download convert lit again without the GUI. Sorry about this but I really am a newbie to all of this and it's all greek to me! Am thinking of buying an ebookman now but need to make sure that it can get the right formats without this converting

I'm not sure you've located the actual .lit file? When you downloaded the .lit file, I'd expect it'd have got saved in the "My Documents\My Library" folder, so have a look in there to find it, then try ConvertLIT (the GUI or the command-line option) on it? | |

You HAVE to run ReaderKeyRecoveryTool from the command line. The GUI won't help. In fact, I find the GUI (an add-on that should never have been written) to be more hassle then it's worth.

A lot of people think running the GUI is how you do it. When you have to read the readme and follow the directions which means no GUI to get the key. I find it a lot easier to use the command line then the GUI. Sometimes a GUI is just in the way.
