The random letter and number codes are personal one use then other ones are general and should work for anyone at least once. You can get your own code by playing the game at Kobo.

I waited a day or so to use both of the 35% off ones I got and they still went through.

I once wrote to Kobo CS about a sorry-this-is-to-make-up-for-this-problem-you-had personalized coupon that had expired before I finally used it and was told that they usually last only around 2 months or so (they gave me a replacement which I used post-haste).

ETA: Just won another 25% off I don't intend to use: 76MEreH to anyone who wants it.
