And, I do the same as you, so can't fathom someone who would pay fees for a prepaid card (after all, if you can discipline yourself to only spend what you can afford, as a prepaid card requires, you should be able to pay off your normal credit card and avoid fees. Every purchase earns money back (so every purchase is on it, if it is possible) - anything from 1% up to the current 10 points/dollar on Kindle books Amazon is currently doing. I could earn more, but hate playing the registration dance, so seldom bother with citicard or discover.

Some us can't get a real credit card. You have to meet certain requirements. Prepaid cards are the alternative way to go.

I have a Kindle 3 with SO and the last months the offers have been so dull I decided to remove the offers, I live in Colombia anyway. Everything was going acceptable but then a Twilight ad popped up and that was it u_u

Now I'm with the classic 'Creepy Emily Dickinson & Friends' wallpapers. But that's better.

That happened to me once. I had to reset to factory defaults and everything was back to normal.

I believe that's cause due to a change in the system folders of the Kindle. Maybe the folder ".assets" was modified and Amazon no longer recognizes it as its own so it won't download anymore ads. If you're really bothered by that warning, do a Reset to factory defaults and you'll get your ads. If you got books or documents not purchased in Amazon, back them up in your PC.

When this happens, you can often fix it with a simple restart - either hold the power switch for 30 seconds (use a timer) or use the menus:

Menu, Settings, Restart

I've actually restarted numerous times, because of updating my collections via the Calibre plugin, so I know that won't help. Honestly, I think I'll just unsubscribe (seeing as it won't cost me anything) and maybe try resubscribing once the offers start showing up again. I really, really don't want to have to do a factory reset, if I don't have to.
