				What happened to my indents?

I created my book (Kelm's Revenge) in Sigil as an epub. I uploaded to Amazon last night as an epub, and it published this morning. The "Look inside" sample lost all the paragraph first line indents!

It looks fine as an epub loaded into iBooks on my iPad. Has anyone else had this problem? What's the work around, if any? Thanks for any help. |

I'd suggest that you convert the book to Mobipocket format yourself, so you can check for such errors, and upload the Mobi file to Amazon.

How did you do your indents in the ePub file? |

In Sigil, I had tried to use a CSS file, but really didn't know how to use it correctly. I since used Jutoh to rework the book, spell check it etc, and directly create a Mobi file. Slick software! Made both ePub and Mobi from the same file, no problems, no errors! Uploaded revision, not published yet. BTW, LUV the ERB Mars series. Read them all back in the '50s. Still have a little notebook I made to record the Martian alphabet he created. |

Often the Sample looks very wonky, but when you open the book in Kindle (or a Kindle app) the book itself is fine. Try downloading your book instead of just the Sample.

And I would never upload an epub to Kindle. Use Mobipocket (if you did the book in Sigil you have an HTML don't you? Just upload the HTML to MobiPocket and build it there. I use Word first, format it well, then save as Webpage-Filtered, then upload to MobiP...never have a problem once I get the Guide feature the way I want it.
