HIMS has already got half. Nice going from a neighbor to the north (or west, as I always say to a friend in Ontario whose town is at exactly the same latitude as mine). As for the rest, don't ignore the obvious. National capitals count.

Well there is Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Not sure if that was named after William Henry Harrison though. Or Benjamin Harrison I suppose though that seems very unlikely.

Washington, DC, yes. No state capital named Washington. Given Bilbo's Jackson (Mississippi), there's only one left, the interesting one. I'll leave it open for a bit, in case anyone wants to claim it, but HIMS is winner in any case and can post a question at his pleasure.

ETA: Daithi got the MI portion of Jackson. Harrisburg was named after an English trader named Harris (I had to look that bit up).

Oh, I bet I know. Monrovia, Liberia (not sure of spelling), which was founded by U.S. ex-slaves.
