The T1 is unique looking, it's tiny! Check out Lisa's review here

You can find the T1 at Target, Best Buy and Fry's Electronics. Target has a large ereader display with demo models and lots of accessories now. I bought mine at Target. My Target has both the black and white models. My Fry's carries the red in-store too.

Those photos in that post aren't representative of everyone's experiences. I have a T1 and a K3. I like them both, and I use them both daily. The T1 screen is fine and has clear text, and I spend more time reading books on it than my K3. Many people don't like the Sony default font compared to the Kindle fonts. The T1 has built-in font options, and I prefer Amasis to the Sony default. There was a touchscreen freeze issue, but Sony issued a firmware update and now my T1 is stable and doesn't crash anymore. It's a great device. I recommend you check one out at the store.

Anyone have any experience using the physical page turn buttons on the T1 for any length of time? Everything seems pretty cool except for the location of those page turn buttons (I'm assuming the "< >" keys on the bottom-left are the page turn buttons). That location doesn't seem like it would be very conducive to comfortable one-handed reading (with either hand).

Basically... I'm not interested in page-turning with Touch. I want to be able to use buttons for that. So given that, will the T1 work well for me if I like to read one-handed (sometimes with either hand)?

Same page turn buttons as on my PRS-350, it looks like. I don't like them. My son is the main user of our 350 and he uses the touch screen.

Same with me. That's one of the main reasons my K3 (er..KK) is still my favorite, and the Nook STR looks like it would be my next choice if I were to buy another reader today. The STR has best page turn buttons I've encountered, personally, though others have reported them temperamental.

I tried the buttons on the K4 in the store and and didn't like them at all.

Yeah, that looks like a deal-breaker for me. Basically, the size of the various devices have gotten too small for me to hold comfortably. Not too small overall, per se, but that real-estate below the screen (where the physical keyboard used to be) is pretty valuable to me and the way I hold my reader. Just lopping it off changes the ergonomics of the whole thing. I keep trying all the newer devices when I come across them, but so far, they all just feel weird and unnatural to me. I didn't get that feeling with my first eReader—it just fit right and worked... right out of the box. Looks like I have to give up the idea of that happening with my next reader.

The Kindle side buttons are more comfortable. The Sony buttons work ok for me because I hold the reader in my left hand only and also tilt it at the same time. Sony has used this design for awhile now. I am surprised they haven't changed it. They used to have side buttons once upon a time.

DiapDealer, maybe you should buy a K3 while they are still available.

I'm thinking that might be my best bet. But there's already a K3 in my house and I'm not that nuts about it, even. But at least I know the ergonomics are comparable for me. I could probably get used to the rest.

I have the Sony Pocket 350 which functions like the T1 from the description on the Sony site. I liked it a lot, but now that I have the Kindle Touch, I probably will retire it. I didn't like that the page turn button was in an awkward spot and I didn't like swiping to turn the page. It was tiresome and all too often instead of turning the page, I would accidentally highlight a word.

I was using my Sony more than my Kindle Keyboard because of it's light weight. But the Kindle Touch feels very light and I prefer tapping to turn the page. I thought I would miss having a button for turning the page, but I don't.

Agree - the set up is a pain but then as you add any further books, unless you're buying in bulk, moving them to a collection is pretty straightforward.

I do wonder about some folks, decision making criteria ......

I have the same button layout on a 650 and it's fine. I use a combination of buttons, swipe and tap (with PRS+). I use 'em all. Side buttons like on the K4 look nice, but I really want buttons and touch, not one or the other.

Not to derail the conversation... but you might want to Google PRS+. It's an alternative firmware for SONYs and it allows you to remap keys and to select whether you want page turns to be activated by swaps or taps.

The physical page turn buttons work well when reading with your left-hand. Otherwise you are back to a touch swipe which I don't really like. The K3 and Nook STR are both ergonomically superior with the page turn buttons on the side. I miss those from my K3 terribly.

I really want the bastard child from an unholy union of a T1 and a K3/K4.
